100 years ago…….

Albany Hospital was considered one of the busiest places in town. The Training School for Nurses was in full force with a new nurse’s residence opening in 1914, an unusually large number of patients for the summer months (288) were being cared for at the Hospital mostly due to accidents and operations, and the Hospital was busy constructing a new X-ray laboratory.

Operations: 2,246 major surgical operations and 878 minor operations were performed at Albany Hospital in 1914

Patients: A total of 4,934 patients were treated at Albany Hospital in 1914
